Princess Eugenie joyfully announced on Instagram that she and her husband Jack Brooksbank welcomed their second child, a baby boy, into the world. The little one, named Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank, arrived on May 30th, weighing a healthy 7lb 1oz.

The Princess delightedly shared a snapshot of her precious newborn son. The adorable picture captured her little one peacefully sleeping in a cosy Moses basket, adorned with a knitted blue-and-white hat.

Explaining the meaningful inspiration behind her new baby's names, Eugenie expressed that they were a tribute to important family figures. She revealed that the names Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank were chosen in honour of his great-great-great grandfather King George the 5th, her grandfather Ronald (father of Sarah the Duchess of York), and her husband Jack's father, George


The line of succession

The Duke of Edinburgh is moved down to 14th in line to the throne as Master Brooksbank is now 13th in the line of succession.


Princess Eugenie

At the age of 32, Princess Eugenie is the daughter of the Prince Andrew the Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, making her the granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth the 2nd.

Ernest is the 2nd child of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank. He has an older brother, August, who is now 2 years old.
